Holiday 2013: Gift Giving, Booze, and Snowflakes

Are you looking for holiday decor and gift wrapping accessories with a bit of humor this season? Or maybe some that are a bit vintage inspired with that tactile letterpress feel we all love? Featuring holiday cards, hang tags, gift stickers, paper lightbulbs with string, and coasters; this Holiday collection is hard to pass up! You can buy it all for $35, or you can purchase items individually between $5 and $8! Check it all out in our store (under the card category), which is conveniently linked right here. Go on, check it out! You don’t have to tell anyone you started holiday shopping before Black Friday hits. However, you should probably tell them so they can snatch these fine letterpress goods up before they disappear!

AIGA Redesign Awards

This past fall, the annual AIGA conference was hosted in Minneapolis along with the annualAIGA Redesign Awards. We volunteered our time, ink, and used paper to the effort! Using old make-ready prints from the Airship graphic novel, we printed the award certificates over the top! We took a bright green color and overlaid it over the illustrative backs, and created really beautiful upcycled awards.

Wedding Invites

It’s been loud around the shop lately – and not just because of our press. Wedding bells have been clanging all summer long with our massive influx of wedding invitations needing to be printed! All jokes aside, we’re happy for all these couples and glad we were able to provide them with some beautiful and fancy invites. Most of these were brought to us by other designers, so it’s really wonderful to see the level of talent in our community and to be able to help finish their work off with the perfect high-quality craftsmanship we strive for. Using good ol’ classic letterpress printing, edge painting, blind debossing, die cutting and metallic inks – we definitely covered all our bases with these invites.

Market Street Dermatology Branding

When the doctors over at Market Street Dermatology approached us here at Angel Bomb to design an identity for their new dermatological office, we were very excited. After talks about what kind of look they were going for, we knew the best approach was something classy, modern, and clean. We ended up creating a street sign motif out of negative space with modern type. After designing a line of stationary to match, complete with greeting cards, we knew we had set up Market Street Dermatology with an identity suite that we could both be proud of. Once it was all designed we jumped on the press to print some awesome and tactile goods for them. An interesting part of this project worth mentioning is that we used both offset and letterpress printing for their pieces. By using offset we were able to get better coverage with the flood of ink on the backside of the cards. Best of luck to them with their new business!

Lots of Updates!

Our presses have been running nearly non-stop as of late. It seems as if we’re pushing the limits of our Heidelberg every day, and have a lot to show for it. These are just a few of the awesome projects we’ve had flying in and out the door to happy clientele, and we’re very excited to share them with you today. Check out the “identity” and “letterpress” sections in our portfolio for details behind these projects – and a few more! Be sure to check back every Tuesday and Thursday throughout the holiday season for more blog updates. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to take a cat-nap before jumping back on the press to finish printing our 2013 Holiday Line (launching very soon)!
